Residential Shredding

Residential Shredding

Gator Shredding offers residential shredding at our secure facility by scheduled appointment or by a pickup at your home. Secure bins can be provided and picked up upon request.

Drop-Off at Our Secure Facility

Not all shredding jobs require hours of work or frequent shredding visits. Sometimes, a shredding job is as small as a few banker boxes full of junk mail. In situations like this, homeowners may find it faster and easier to drop off their documents, rather than schedule a mobile appointment.

Residential customers are welcome to bring their documents to our secure shredding facility for off-site shedding. To protect the security of all documents entrusted to our care, we do ask that customers make an appointment to drop off their items for shredding.

Drop-Off Shredding is available at our facility. Please Follow us on Facebook for dates and time that we will be taking walk-in customers

Why Residential Shredding?

Shredding services provide plenty of benefits to large companies, but homeowners can find them a valuable resource, too. On a weekly basis, the average American receives around 16 pieces of junk mail. Junk mail might not sound like the most confidential form of communication, but even pre-approved credit card solicitations come with a wealth of personal information inside.

Personal information can include:

  • The signature on a birthday card
  • The account number on a bank statement
  • The address on a junk mail flyer
  • The phone number on a scrap of paper
  • The nickname used in a letter
  • The educational records on a report card

The Importance of Shredding

When you discard household papers, anything that ends up in the public trash effectively leaves your control the moment it’s collected. After that point, you have no way of knowing where your trash ends up, or if someone picks up a stray piece of paper along the way.

Residential shredding cross-cuts your papers into tiny pieces, which are then taken for recycling. This provides your information with multiple levels of protection and ensures that each and every page is accounted for.

Gator Shredding is proud to supply our residential clients with both drop-off and at-your-door mobile shredding options.

What Should I Be Shredding?

Anything that contains personally identifiable information (PII) should be kept aside for residential shredding. PII is any information that could identify a specific person, and it can show up anywhere, even on junk mail. The reason it’s so important to destroy PII is that thieves only need a small amount of it to put your identity (and your financial accounts) at risk. Any time you’re ready to throw out a piece of paper or an old document or ID card that contains PII, it should go in your shredding pile, rather than the kitchen trashcan.
